Pilgrimage for Cancer – El Camino De Santiago
September 10, 2016 8:00 am - September 23, 2016 5:00 pm
Christina Bernhard is walking the ‘Camino de Santiago’ pilgrimage in Spain in memory of Klaus Bernhard and also to raise funds for the Cancer Council Tasmania. Klaus died of prostate cancer on Anzac Day 2014. They were married for 53 years and 5 months.
Christina told us Cancer Council’s support had been invaluable during those darkest hours in their lives. It has made a difference!
Please make a donation to help others as they themselves have been helped.
(Note: 100% of your donation will be passed onto Cancer Council Tasmania).
Here’s what Christina says about her upcoming adventure:
My pilgrimage will begin 10 September 2016 when I leave Launceston for Madrid. From there I take the train to Sarria to walk 110 km to de Santiago de Compostela. On the way I will stop at Portomarin, Palas de Rei, Melide, Arzua, O Pedrouzo before arriving in Santiago to attend the Pilgrim Mass. I hope to be back home in Launceston 23rd September 2016 – physically exhausted for sure – but spiritually strengthened.
