WEAR PINK AND FIGHT BREAST CANCER OVER BREAKFAST ON PINK RIBBON DAY THIS OCTOBER. CANCER COUNCIL TASMANIA INVITES YOU TO ATTEND THE 4 TH PINK RIBBON DAY BREAKFAST AT MOORILLA ESTATE ON OCTOBER 26.
Guest speakers will include Australian author Sarah Darmody who recently edited the world-first collection of stories about breasts, Thanks for the Mammaries, featuring many of our best-loved female authors. Royalties from the book are donated to the breast cancer research Sarah herself benefited from after a ground-breaking familial cancer study led to her preventative mastectomy at the age of 29.
Tasmanian breast cancer survivor Helen Brain will also share her inspiring story. Helen credits the support of her family, friends and colleagues as well as the compassionate sick leave policy of her employer, Hydro Tasmania, as significant in her recovery. She strongly believes a positive outlook and keeping life as normal as possible were also important in her recovery.
A BREAKFAST OF LOCAL PRODUCE WILL BE SERVED WITH A GLASS OF MOORILLA'S FINEST SPARKLING, AS WOMEN FROM THE TASMANIAN COMMUNITY GATHER TO FIGHT BREAST CANCER, A DISEASE FEW HAVE NOT BEEN TOUCHED BY, EITHER DIRECTLY OR OTHERWISE.
Tickets: SOLD OUT!
