Cancer Council Tasmania is committed to working with health professionals to ensure cancer patients and their families get support and information to help them cope with the impact of cancer.

This section of the website includes Cancer Council Australia position statements about cancer-related issues, NHMRC clinical practice guidelines for all major cancers and information about educational events.

Education sessions for health professionals in all areas of cancer care are being developed for 2010 and 2011. Some sessions are aimed at general practice, while others will focus on specialists and allied health professionals.

The Cancer Council Helpline 13 11 20 provides health professionals with cancer-related information and offers support for their patients. It can also refer patients to support groups and support services.

Educational Program in Cancer Care
Cancer Council Tasmania is proud to announce the launch of EPICC, a new free, online cancer education and resource program designed specifically for non-cancer specialists medical practitioners.(general practitioners, general physicians, gynaecologists, etc) Funded by the Australian government through Cancer Australia, the program was developed by a Multidisciplinary Steering Committee led by the Medical Oncology Group of Australia.
 EPICC includes education activities, relevant literature, resources and links to existing programs and information on general principles of cancer, diagnosis, treatment, symptoms, side effects of treatment, oncological emergencies and psychosocial care and follow up. The information is available online and can be compelted as learning modules or accessed as informational resources.
