Welcome. The Cancer Council Tasmania is a community organisation that works to minimise the impact of cancer on all Tasmanians.

Cancer Council won't accept Williams' donation
The Cancer Council Tasmania will not accept any money raised by Roberta Williams at her Hobart dinner engagement. Cancer Council Tasmania CEO Lawson Ride said that while he did not doubt Ms Williams' motivation, his organisation would decline to accept money from the event.
"There may be a public perception that money raised at the dinner relates to her connections with Melbourne underworld figures," he said.

Relay For Life makes magic million mark
The Cancer Council Tasmania's premier fundraiser, Relay For Life, has broken through the million dollar mark for cancer services this year. With money still coming in, Relay For Life has banked a record $1,204,000. This year more than 8232 Tasmanians in 357 teams took to the track in Hobart , Launceston, Penguin, St Helens and Circular Head.

Don't use solariums
The Cancer Council Tasmania says people should not use solariums for tanning under any circumstance. All forms of ultraviolet (UV) radiation contribute to skin cancer, and a solarium tan is induced by UV radiation.
No solarium gives a safe tan; solariums may emit much higher concentrations of UV radiation than the sun.
