ProstateTAS

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Tasmanian men; and we know it also hits their families and friends.
Men are notoriously shy about coming forward with their health concerns and this is killing far too many them.
So Cancer Council Tasmania has decided to launch a concerted campaign to raise awareness of prostate and men's cancers among Tasmanian men and to help support those affected by the disease while we work towards a cure.

ProstateTAS is a program of Cancer Council Tasmania to take action on prostate
and men's cancers.
ProstateTAS will raise funds to help reduce the impact of prostate cancer through research and public education, and to speak up for and provide support for those affected by the disease. ProstateTAS will work to attract support and resources as
well as increase awareness for measures that reduce the impact of prostate and men's cancers on all Tasmanians.

ProstateTAS Action
ProstateTAS Action is a group of people that will support the development of this expanded program and will report to the Cancer Council Tasmania Board.
The primary aims of ProstateTAS Action are:
Sunsmart reading for today to attract additional support and resources necessary to achieve the goals
Sunsmart reading for today to identify and advocate for measures that reduce the impact of prostate and men's cancers on all Tasmanians.
In addition, Cancer Council is recruiting volunteers with medical, business and marketing expertise and those with a direct cancer experience. The group will meet regularly with a focus in its first 12 months to raise funds to action initiatives in
prostate cancer control identified by Cancer Council.

Blue Ribbon Patrons' Club
We also aim to secure $150,000 to launch initiatives in support, research and health promotion. To this end, the ProstateTAS Blue Ribbon Patrons' Club has been formed to raise funds to kick-start these new initiatives. Membership is available to donors who contribute $5000+.
In addition, 15 individuals or Tasmanian businesses have the opportunity to take the lead and become Founding Fellows of the Blue Ribbon Patrons' Club for a donation of $10,000.

Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. To donate online please click here.
