The Cancer Council Tasmania offers a range of support services to Tasmanians diagnosed with cancer, as well as to their carers, friends and families.

Our support services are delivered through the four local Cancer Support Centres located at Hobart, Launceston, Devonport and Burnie. Anyone calling into their local Cancer Support Centre can talk to a support volunteer trained to listen, to provide emotional support, offer advice and refer people to other Cancer Council programs.

Regional Service staff work closely with a team of trained volunteers to coordinate the delivery of support services to help minimise the impact of cancer in their local communities.

The experience of cancer affects people in many ways. The Cancer Council’s support services have evolved to meet the social, spiritual, emotional and information needs of people with cancer and their families.
