Northern Cancer Support Programs

 Living Well After Cancer

Living Well After Cancer is a free half-day session focusing on the importance of healthy eating, exercise and emotional well-being. Come and find out about ways to manage your future health from experts in the field, and hear how Cancer Council Tasmania can support you. The sessions are for people who have finished their initial cancer treatment. Partners or carers are also welcome.  This program is a great opportunity to ask questions and receive expert up-to-date information.

There will be nine sessions offered around Tasmania- three in the South, three in the North West and three in Launceston. For more information on the Northern program call 6779 1107.  For other areas: Call 6169 1925 (South) or 6419 4205 (North West).

Basic Cooking for Men

Basic Cooking for Men is a new small group program being offered in Launceston to any man impacted by cancer – whether they have the diagnosis, or their partner does – and they want to be able to cook meals from scratch.

The concept is that in a small group (four to six people), over four sessions, the attendees will be shown how to cook healthy inexpensive meals perfect for batch cooking and therefore freezing.

Groups will run according to demand and our next group will be starting in mid January 2017. To register or to find out more please contact Richard on 6779 1107 or email raustin@cancertas.org.au
