Cancer Council Tasmania invites the Tasmania media TOMORROW to the launch of Dry July.

Cancer Council Tasmania is being supported for the first time by national charity fundraiser Dry July.

Cancer Council Tasmania CEO Penny Egan said four major ambassadors – Tasmanian Speaker Elise Archer, SeaFM presenters Matt Newell and Gaby Fitzgerald and WIN Television presenter Brent Costelloe – will lead the charge.

“Dry July challenges Tasmanians to go alcohol-free for a month to support adults living with cancer,” Mrs Egan said. “Evidence also suggests excessive alcohol use contributes to some cancers. As a rule, we advise people avoid or limit their alcohol intake to no more than two (2) standard drinks per day. “But in Dry July, we are encouraging all Tasmanians to sign up, go alcohol-free for the month and support Cancer Council Tasmania or support one of three ambassadors.”
