Every day, eight Tasmanians are diagnosed with cancer. A third of these cancers can be prevented through healthy lifestyle choices. An active lifestyle will help you keep a healthy weight which, in itself, is protective against some cancers.


Being more active helps prevent breast and endometrium cancer in women after menopause, and bowel cancer in all Australians.

More than 1500 cancers experienced by Australians in 2010 were related to not enough physical activity.
